Blessed are the cheese makers.

Back into the lion's den

I got a call from work today, and they asked me if I would like to go to Los Angeles again. Hesitant though I was to agree, I figured the extra cash, and we are talking $$$$, and the upcoming holiday season nearing, were enough to convince me to give it a go. It should be a better, safer trip this time than last. I'll be using my mapping software to get me around more efficiently, and now that I have borne witness to the evil that lurks in LA, I'm going to be more cautious this go around. That, and I'll make sure to schedule the sketchier parts during the earlier part of the day and good ol' Compton, et al on Sunday. I'll be staying at the Orange Drive Manor hostel, a rustic mansion built in the 1920s that was a hotel for celebrities in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. With wi-fi and parking available, I should be set. My stay in LA will almost coincide with PJWA(S) tour stop there. It would have been awesome to see them, but they don't get there until two days after I leave. Shucks. Hopefully I'll have the time to do a couple posts while I'm down there and let everyone know how it is going. Wish me luck!

Pineapple sage over lemongrass

Flamegrass, eucalyptus, sage, datura, rosemary.

Our Eucalyptus at four months growth! They were only 6" sprigs when we put them in the ground. Maybe it was the 3 cubic feet of Bumper Crop we planted them in!

I think it's about time for a haircut. Some teenage kids saw me the other day and said "Look, that guy looks like Jesus!" I gave them the thumbs up.

Step One

I've been contemplating qutting for a long, long time, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I went to Fred Meyer and bought the patch, though I'm not sure exactly when I am going to start it. I have to do some preplanning per the instructions. The whole process runs for 8 weeks, and is a two stage process. 14mg/day to start then 7mg/day after 6 weeks. I'll try to use the blog as a place to vent and track my progress. Wish me luck!
